Overcoming Obstacles to Change
We all want to make changes in our lives—maybe it’s to become better at the work we do, improve our health and wellness, improve our relationships, or become more mindful in our daily lives. There are always challenges along the way that can derail us from our intentions. These obstacles may bring up defeating self-talk, such as: “There’s more important things to do,” or “I’m too overwhelmed,” or “The conditions aren’t right.” As we become familiar with the obstacles to achieving our unique goals, we can learn to label them, step outside of them, and refocus on what’s most important.
