How to maximize the unique communication platform of the virtual classroom:
The Frisby, SUPER BASS LEATHERETTE HI-FI DYNAMIC STEREO HEADPHONE + MICROPHONE AND IN-LINE VOLUME CONTROL, is the preferred headset of eMindful. If you need a headset, and would like to purchase one from eMindful, please send a request to info@emindful.com. Please take a few minutes to test your new headset as soon as you get it by following the easy steps below (just in case of damage during shipment or a manufacturer defect which is rare). YOU MAY USE THESE INSTRUCTIONS AS A GUIDELINE TO INSTALL ANY HEADSET/MIKE WITH JACKS.
Easy Step-by-Step Instructions before Your First Class:
1. Unpack the headset carefully.
2. Locate colored (usually green and pink ) ports on your computer or laptop, see pictures below:
3. Insert colored jacks on the headset with corresponding colored ports on your computer.
4. With your headset plugged in, it is highly recommended to close all running applications or open windows and reboot or restart your computer (this will only take a few minutes).
5. When your computer is ready, adjust the headset so it is rests comfortably on your head.
6. Position the microphone so that it is at least one inch (1”) from your mouth.
7. Here is the link to log into the classroom: http://emindful.omnovia.com/emindful (this link opens in a new window). Type in your name, email address, and your password (your log-in information will be emailed to you) then click the button that says: “click here to enter room”.
*Bookmark this page for easy access into the classroom
8. The first thing you see notice when entering the virtual classroom is a virtual assistant named Angela.
9. Angela states that for technical questions click on the green
question mark in the upper right corner. Go ahead and click on the green question mark to perform a few simple tests for yourself.
10. Next, this window appears: click on “Audio related issues”

11. Now this window appears: click on “I don’t hear any audio at all”
12. Next this window appears: click on Play Test Sound button.
13.
If you heard the sound chime, you should not have any problems hearing the presenter.
NOTE: If you are not getting any sound through the headset, make sure you have inserted the colored jacks on the headset with the corresponding colored ports on your computer and make sure the jacks are all the way into the port on your computer (not loose). If your headset jacks have different colors than your computer, you will have to switch the jacks around until you hear sound. A good test is to try your headset playing your favorite music or go to www.youtube.com and listen to a video. Shutting down and restarting your computer is another option to fix the issue.
14. Please come to class at least 15 minutes early so we can briefly ensure your microphone is working. This will allow class to get started on time. Unfortunately, we cannot test microphones during class – but you will find the microphone usage becomes second nature very quickly.
15. If you have any questions before class starts, please do not hesitate to contact customer service at info@emindful.com.
Instructions for entering the Virtual Classroom on Your First Day of Class:
Preliminary steps to take:
1. Test your login procedures: Login procedures should be provided by the conference presenter. If you are not sure of your username, password, or URL, please contact the presentation company’s conference administrator (info@emindful.com ).
2. Verify your Network Connection: Verify your network connection is stable and reliable. Wireless and Satellite connections often fluctuate based on surrounding conditions and can cause an inadequate connection between your computer and the internet. This can often result in bad or dropped audio, image disconnections, etc. It is advisable to use a hard-wired connection when attending a webinar over the Internet.
3. Next: This is a screen shot of the virtual classroom after you log-in. Look at the lower left hand corner that is circled. This is where the microphone icon is located.
4. The screen shot below (found at the bottom left hand corner of the room) is showing a picture of a microphone with a red line through it (that means the microphone is not yet activated). This is normal and the moderator will activate it at the appropriate time.
5. When the moderator informs you that your microphone is now activated, an orange box will appear. The orange box says: “You have been given microphone access. Click red bar on the microphone icon to enable”. All you have to do is click on the microphone icon with the red line through it and the red line will disappear and your microphone will be enabled (see picture below):
6. Now, the red line on the microphone will disappear and the ON AIR will appear (as shown below) just to the right of the microphone.
7. Success, you are now ready to experience State-of-the-Art Live Virtual Conferencing. If you are having any difficulties, there is a moderator in the room who can assist you.
